The hometown Frontier Raiders (Brody Dumontel 28 points, Kyle Anderson 19 points) posted another league win defeating the Gull Lake Lions (Ian Mittleholt­z 23 points, Branson Woodward 17 points) in boy’s action by a score of 70-49. The Swift Current Junior Colts (Luke Bloom 10 points, Logan Friesen 9 points) defeated the Maple Creek Rebels (Krystian Mazar 7 points, Alex Fritzke4 points). The final score was 59-18.

JUNIOR BASKETBALL LEAGUE RESULTS

Junior games this week included a Wednesday, January 16 match up with Maple Creek Rebels

traveling to play a reschedule­d game against the SC Grade 9 Colts. The Colts came away with a 69-30 win.

On Thursday, January 17, Swift Current Gr. 9’s were at home against both Shaunavon teams. The host teams won both games.

Gr. 9 Ardens over the Silhouette­s 54-36 and the Gr 9 Colts over the Shadows 54-41. Waldeck girls and Wymark girls played to an exciting 38-38 tie. Maple Creek boys got another win with a 65-37 victory over the Gull Lake Lions.

Junior Girls League Standings

UPCOMING BASKETBALL LEAGUE GAMES

Basketball league game times are set for 5:30 (and 7:00, if there is a double header at the host site). Schools may adjust those start times or who plays first, so make sure to check at your school before heading out to a game.

The junior league has one makeup game on Tuesday, Jan 22. In boy’s action, the Gull Lake Lions will be in Shaunavon to play the Shadows. There are two games on Thursday, Jan. 24. The Waldeck girls will host the Shaunavon girls and Gull Lake will host the Shaunavon boys.

Senior league games will resume on Tuesday, Feb. 5. Maple Creek girls will be in Shaunavon, Herbert girls will host SCCHS Jr Ardens, Shaunavon boys are in Swift Current to play the Jr. Colts and Maple Creek boys travel to Frontier to take on the Raiders.

SWAC CURLING

Completed curling draws will be posted on SWAC Sports Facebook /twitter/Instagram this week.

Senior Sectional Playoffs will be held on Feb 1st/2nd. Cypress Hills will be competing in Fox Valley and Rolling Hills will be in Ponteix. Whitemud’s playoff is in Shaunavon. The top two teams from each of the sectionals will advance to the SWAC District championsh­ip is on February 8th/9th in Val Marie.

Junior Sectional Playoffs will be held on Feb. 8/9. Cypress Hills plays off in Leader, Rolling Hills in Herbert and Whitemud in Frontier. As in the seniors, the top 2 junior section teams advance to the SWAC District Championsh­ip held in Swift Current on March 1 and 2.
