Challenge yourself! Come and learn to play Mahjong at the Swift Current Branch Library every Wednesday morning at 10 a.m. Mahjong is a tile-based game that originated in China. The game is played with a set of 144 tiles based on Chinese characters and symbols and is very similar to the card game Rummy. Matthew Byrne concert at the Griffin Park Theatre in Brooks ( 805- 4th Ave W). starting at 7:30 p.m. Born into a family of Newfoundla­nd music makers, Matthew’s repertoire is heavily influenced by that unique musical lineage – the weaving of a great story with a beautiful melody – and he supports this tradition with powerful vocals, polished guitar work, and a presence that fills the room. This event is part of the 2018-2019 Newell Concert Series. There are a limited number of tickets available at the door: $25/adult and $10/12 and under.

At this program, children ages 3 and under will enjoy finger rhymes and sing songs, and then at 10:30 am enjoy Romp ‘n’ Read. At this program, children listen to stories, play in a creative space, do crafts, and play literacy-based games. Burstall and District Community Complex Supper and Charity Auction takes place starting at 5: 30 p. m. with cocktails; supper at 6:30 p.m. and auction at 7:30 p.m. It is the 5th Annual event as the Community Hall Commission and Burstall and District Community is trying to raise funds to replace the existing hall and are trying to build a multi- purpose community complete. Adults are $25; 14 and under are $15 and preschool children are free. Babysittin­g Courses: Cypress Advanced First Aid Services is presenting babysittin­g courses for children 10 years and older. Learn skills to stay home alone or babysit for family or friends.
