ALUMNI GAME TOP-SHELF: The Swift Cur­rent Bron­cos hosted the Alumni and Celebrity Clas­sic game on Feb. 8 as part of the four-day Sco­tia­bank Hockey Day in Canada fes­ti­val in the city. Lanny Mc­Don­ald was the cap­tain of Team Mc­Don­ald and Team Tucker was cap­tained by Darcy Tucker. The game fea­tured sev­eral NHL and na­tional team play­ers, as well as Bron­cos alumni and play­ers from the Bron­cos 1988-89 Me­mo­rial Cup cham­pi­onship team. Team Tucker’s head coach was Cassie Camp­bell-Pas­call and the hon­oured coach was Swift Cur­rent res­i­dent Larry John­son, who was in­ducted last year into the Saskatchew­an Hockey Hall of Fame in the grass­roots cat­e­gory. Bryan Trot­tier was Team Mc­Don­ald’s head coach and the hon­oured coach was lo­cal res­i­dent Bill Lee, who ini­ti­ated the project to cre­ate a Bron­cos me­mo­rial site near the scene of the 1986 bus crash.
