Buckley performs on the Lyric stage on March 9

-

The Blenders Music Series is pleased to introduce Mariel Buckley on Saturday, March 9th at the Lyric Theatre in Swift Current. Mariel’s gritty, truthful songs will grab you by the heart and hold you in your seat.

Few performers combine the lyrical heartfelt authenticity of classic folkroots music with a steely-eyed intensity that compels an audience’s attention like Calgary, Alberta’s Mariel Buckley. Amidst a sea of neonNashville superstars, Buckley offers a crunchy, roots alternative. It’s the kind of sound many musicians strive for years to achieve.

Mariel Buckley’s newest album, Driving In The Dark, delivers on the promise of her previous album, Motorhome, as she plants her flag firmly as a songwriter who is here for the long haul. Buckley’s songs paint poetically plainspoken highs and lows, long nights and hard days, all filtered through Mariel’s wry, honest perspective. The album was produced by Blenders alumni, Leeroy Stagger, at his studio in Lethbridge. For an amazing evening of great music, get your tickets today!

Tickets for the Saturday, March 9th show are $30 and are available at Pharmasave. Doors at the Lyric Theatre will open at 7:30pm, the music begins at 8:30 pm. Blenders would like to thank Original Joe’s for sponsoring this show.
