There will be a few new consignors at the upcoming Spring Bull Show and Sale in Medicine Hat, but a few others that have opted out of this year's event.

“We have several new ones, about the same as last year, but down a bit from what is typical,” said Southeastern Alberta Purebred Beef Breeders Association president, Merle Wyatt, adding that 100 consignors is about average. Eighty-six will be attending show and sale being held at the Cypress Centre in Medicine Hat.

Wyatt noted that a couple of the consignors have planned to do their own consignments rather than participate in the annual spring bull sale.

Fifty-three Hereford bulls and 33 Red and Black Angus Bulls will be available to the highest bidder during the two-day event.

Also, there will be a draw for a $500 credit to be used towards the purchase of a bull.

The 61st annual Medicine Hat Spring Bull Show and Sale takes place at the Cypress Centre at the Medicine Hat Exhibition grounds, with the bull show going on March 12 at 5 p.m. and the sale taking place on March 13, starting at 1 pm. Herefords will start both the show and the sale.

The event is being sponsored by the Southeastern Alberta Purebred Beef Breeders Association. To view the catalog, visit www.medicinehatbullsale.com. To bid online, go to www.dlms.ca.
