The Medicine Hat Exhibition and Stampede was full of hungry and thirsty Hatters Feb. 23 for the annual Food and Beverage Expo.

The event had roughly 150 booths set up and hosted a variety of businesses.

“This is the fourth year we’ve come to Medicine Hat,” said head organizer of the event Chris Meilleur. “What we have at the event is microbreweries, vineyards and distilleries from all over the world as well as local restaurants and food suppliers.

“We offer people the chance to sample the latest, greatest and best from these businesses.”

There were microbreweries from all over Alberta and award winning Harvest Eatery made it from Shaunavon.

The expos are held in various cities across the province throughout the year, with Medicine Hat being one of the final stops along the way.

“This is a great way for us to allow restaurants to show what they’re made of,” said Meilleur. “It’s a perfect way for people to meet the men and women running their favourite businesses and it’s a great way to find new favourite places.

“With restaurants and beverage companies – there’s always something new, so with our show it’s never the same as the year before – there’s always something new.”

Admission cost Hatters $20 with sample tickets costing 50 cents each.

Dayzoff Pub has been around in Medicine Hat for more than a decade and has made a point in taking part in every Food and Beverage Expo.

“We do this to show off what we can do,” said one of the pub’s owners Jeff Gyorkos. “It’s great to show off our product and we do it with the hopes of getting people back to the bar at some point.

“It’s great for us to interact with people who may be regulars or people who haven’t stopped by before.”
