Free workshops to help those with chronic pain live well in SE Alta.

Local residents living with chronic pain have an opportunit­y to join a free Alberta Health Services (AHS) program designed to help them manage their pain so they can live a satisfying and fulfilling life.

Better Choices, Better Health is a sixweek series of workshops designed to support Albertans living with chronic pain. The workshop sessions are led by trained volunteers, many of whom live with a chronic pain. This approach ensures an understand­ing of the challenges participan­ts face and provides a supportive and welcoming environmen­t. Better Choices, Better Health focuses on teaching tools and techniques common to all chronic pain, with an appreciati­on that there is no one treatment or approach that is right for everyone.

Topics include:

· Overcoming the physical and emotional challenges of living with chronic pain.

· Making positive nutrition and active living choices.

· Setting personal goals and acting on your plans.

Workshops will run from 6 - 8:30 p.m. on six consecutiv­e Wednesdays from March 13 - April 17 at the Medicine Hat Library. You are welcome to bring a friend or family member with you, and everyone is asked to register in advance to ensure there is enough room.
