Swift Current Municipal RCMP were extremely busy last weekend

The following is a synopsis of calls for service for Apr. 12-14 for the Swift Current Municipal Detachment: APRIL-12

4:21 p.m. - report of a hit and run to a rental vehicle the complainan­t had been using. The complainan­t was unsure if the collision occurred in Swift Current or when he had been out of town. There are no suspects or witnesses.

4:50 p.m. - 911 call of the back window of the caller's vehicle being smashed out. There are no suspects or witnesses.

5:37 p.m. - 911 call from a male advising he's been speaking with someone who seems very agitated after having a disagreeme­nt with an unknown male. The caller would like police to assist with keeping the peace as he believes the situation may escalate. Officers contacted the caller and he advised that police were no longer required, the male he had been speaking to left the location.

6:35 p.m. - report from a female who attended the Detachment wishing to speak to an officer regarding issues she was having with social media. Officers reviewed what was provided and determined no criminal offence was taking place. The female was directed to reach out to the website to have the post removed or pursue the matter civilly if she wished to do so.

7:13 p.m. - report of a female walking into people's rooms and harassing them at a location on the 100 block of North Service Road W. The caller believes the woman is intoxicate­d, she can barely keep her eyes open and is having difficulty walking. Officers attended the location and spoke to the woman who was intoxicate­d and has been struggling with the recent loss of a loved one.

8:54 p.m. -while on patrol officers issued a ticket to the driver of a white GMC Sierra for parking in a no parking zone on South Service Road W.

9: 18 p.m. -while on patrol officers issued a written warning to the passenger of a black Chevrolet Aveo for performing an activity to distract, startle or interfere with other road users.

10:09 p.m. - report of the caller's red Ford Focus being stolen from in front of her residence on the 300 block of Sidney Street W. A few minutes later a second call was received advising the vehicle was not stolen, her boyfriend left it at his friend’s residence.

10:47 p.m. - report of a male and female yelling and screaming on the 100 block of Grey Street W. Officers attended and spoke to both parties who had gotten in a verbal argument.

12:17 a.m. -911 hang up call. A male called 911 concerned his girlfriend may be having a breakdown and then hung up. Officers attended the location of both parties who advised that there was no emergency taking place and there had been a misunderst­anding between the male and his girlfriend.

12:19 a.m. - report of a loud party on the 1400 block of Winnie Street E. Officers attended the location and shut the party down and issued a ticket to a female youth for being in possession/consuming alcohol.

12:52 p.m. - report of a male who appears to be in distress in the bushes near a business on Central Avenue N. Officers attended the area and located a male walking on the street not wearing pants. In speaking with the male he advised he had suddenly become ill and defecated in his pants. The male was taken to a location where he was provided a shower and a change of clothes.

5:44 a.m. - report of the caller's windshield being chipped by a semi hauling a grain auger on the #4 Highway. No plate number was able to obtained for the semi as well as no company logo. The caller was provided a police file number for insurance.

10:25 a.m. - report of a orange Dodge Nitro sitting in the parking lot of a business on the 900 block of Central Avenue N. The vehicle has been there since Thursday. Plate number of the vehicle was provided and it was confirmed the vehicle was not stolen.

10:43 a.m. - report of a female laying on the ground in front of a business on the 200 block of 1st Avenue N. E. Officers attended the location where a female was having what appeared to be a breakdown. The female was transporte­d to the hospital with EMS for evaluation.

12:12 p.m. - report of the female from the previous call leaving the hospital while waiting to be evaluated. Officers made patrols of the immediate area but were unable to locate her. Police advised hospital staff that they would continue to make attempts to locate the female however, if she did not want to return she would not be forced. At 6 p.m., police received an update that the female had returned to the hospital.

1:02 p.m. - report of the complainan­t's credit card number being stolen and charges being made on the card. Officers were able to determine that the complainan­t had given the credit card number to a female and that she had made the charges on his credit card. The card was canceled and the complainan­t was advised to pursue the matter civilly.

1:59 p.m. - report of the complainan­t's vehicle being stolen after he had located it on the 5th Avenue N. E. The complainan­t had been renting a property and when he moved out he had left the vehicle there. The owner of the property had the vehicle removed from his property and would return it to the owner.

2:03 p.m. - report of unwanted communicat­ions between the complainan­t and a male that's been going on for the last 10 years. The complainan­t requested the informatio­n be documented and did not wish police act on the complaint.

2:17 p.m. - 911 call from a female saying she needed police and then disconnect­ed the call. Officers attended the location and spoke with a female who was wanting to report a male who has been using drugs, having an out of control temper and other mental health concerns. The female was provided with informatio­n in regards to obtaining a mental health warrant.

2:51 p.m. - 911 call of a collision where a semi hit a light standard on 6th Avenue N.E. No one was injured as a result of the collision. The driver of the semi was issued a ticket for driving without due care and attention.

7:30 p.m. - report of possible child abuse. This matter is still under investigat­ion.

8:30 p.m. - report from a female that a male she knows tried to sell her drugs while she was at a location on the 200 block of 1st Avenue N.E. The female said no and the male got on his bicycle and left the area. APRIL-14

1:12 a.m. - report of voices that can be heard outside a dwelling unit on the 300 block of Matador Drive. The caller could see three unknown males and was concerned they may cause property damage. Officers made patrols of the area and could not locate anything deemed suspicious.

8:25 a.m. - report of the caller's mother barricadin­g herself in her residence with a baseball bat and will not let the caller into the home. Officers attended the location and spoke to all involved parties. The mother was okay with allowing her son back into the residence but did want the male he had with him in her home.

10:03 a.m. - report of a male being at the caller's property the night prior yelling, screaming and kicking things. The male's ex-girlfriend resides with the caller. The caller wants the male to stay away from his residence. This matter is still under investigat­ion.

10:56 a.m. - report of a male who will not stop contacting the caller's sister. The caller's sister does not wish to speak to police about the incident. This is the same male from the prior complaint where he attended a residence the night prior causing issues. Police expressed to the caller to continue to try and urge their sister to come speak to police.

11:33 a.m. - report of a female wrapped in a hospital blanket walking along Memorial Drive. Officers attended the location and spoke to a female who advised she had been released from the hospital and didn't have a way of getting home. The female was given a ride home by police.

12:09 p.m. - report of the driver's side window, door lock and ignition being smashed sometime overnight on the complainan­t's black Ford F350 while parked on the 1700 block of Chaplin Street W. There are no suspects or witnesses at this time.
