The Brooks and District Social Club will be sponsoring a dance at the Legion Hall on Saturday, May 11 from 7:30 - 11 p. m. Dance to the music of a very popular band from Hanna, Yesteryear. Come out and enjoy an evening of dancing and socializin­g. Free tea and coffee all evening. A potluck meal will follow at 11 p.m. Support the Social Club so we can continue to sponsor dances. We are a non profit organizati­on.

Join us on Tuesday, May 14 at 7 p.m. for Truth & Reconcilia­tion: Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls. Hear Darlene Okemaysim- Sicotte, activist, and member of Iskwewuk Ewichiwito­chik ( Women Walking Together) speak about how she works to create awareness about missing or murdered Indigenous women, how to keep their memory alive, and how to tackle the root causes of violence against women.

Type 2 Together – An education and support group for people with type 2 diabetes. Join Rebel Fit and Piston Broke Brewery for this 1km or 5km charity run. No bibs, no time keepers, just a fun run (or walk) with beer at the end! Starts at 4 p. m. Race will start at the Brooks Skateboard Park and end at Piston Broke Brewery. There are two distance options: 1km or 5km. Entry fee is $25 or $ 15 for those aged 12 and under; contact either business to register. Entry fee will include 1 beer to those 18 and over or 1 root beer to those under the legal drinking age.
