Busy long weekend for RCMP

The following is a synopsis of calls for service for the dates indicated for the Swift Current Municipal RCMP:

MAY-17

5:28 p.m. - found wallet turned into the Detachment.

7:02 p.m. -while on patrol, officers issued a ticket to the driver of a purple Chrysler Intrepid for operating a motor vehicle without a valid driver's licence.

7:27 p.m. - report of the caller's exhusband breaching the conditions of his court order by being in the same location as the caller. This matter is still under investigation.

9:12 p.m. - report of vehicles speeding on 6th Avenue N.W. Officers made extra patrols of the area but did not locate any speeders.

9:42 p.m. - report of a possible suicidal individual. Officers located the individual who was transported to hospital by police for evaluation.

11:14 p.m. - report of loud music coming from a residence on the 800 block of Lochwood Place. Officers attended the residence and spoke to the homeowner who agreed to turn the music down.

MAY-18

12:52 p.m. -while on patrol, officers conducted a check on a female who is on a court ordered curfew. The female was not at home and was arrested later in the evening by police. 44-year-old Denise Wiebe of Swift Current was arrested for failing to comply with the conditions of her conditional sentence order and appeared in Swift Current Provincial Court on May 21.

1:20 a.m. -while on patrol officers conducted a check on a male who is on a court ordered curfew. The male was not at home. This matter is still under investigation.

3:20 a.m. - 911 call from a female stating she had just been assaulted and didn't know where she was. Officers located a male and female on 1st Avenue N.W. and spoke to the female who appeared to have been crying and had a bloody nose. Police separated both parties and the female confirmed she had been struck in the face by the male. The male was arrested by police and will be charged with one count of assault under the Criminal Code.

4:26 p.m. - 911 call advising they were in the parking lot of a business on the 1800 block of Memorial Drive and overheard a female passenger of a semi yelling that she wanted out of the vehicle and the driver of the semi just kept driving. Police were able to stop the semi on the #1 Highway and spoke to the female passenger who advised everything was okay, she and the driver are in a relationship and had gotten into a verbal argument about groceries.

6:33 p.m. -while on patrol, officers conducted a check on a male who is on a court ordered curfew. The male was not at home. This matter is still under investigation.

9:35 p.m. - report of a possibly suicidal individual. Officers located the individual at their residence intoxicated. The individual was transported to the hospital by police for evaluation however due to the consumption of alcohol and erratic behaviour was unable to stay. The individual was held in police custody until they were sober and could be transported back to hospital for further evaluation.

10:06 p.m. - 911 call from a female advising she just heard a lot of noise and what sounded like a fire alarm going off and can now hear what sounds like an old truck outside her door.

Police contacted the caller who stated whoever had been making the noise must be drinking but could not clarify what made her believe that. The noise stopped and the caller just wanted police aware in the event it occured again.

10:24 p.m. - report of the caller's daughter being intoxicated and leaving a house party on the 300 block of 4th Avenue N.W. The caller was concerned as she had been told her daughter was bumping into things while leaving and requested police locate her. Police spoke with people at the party who advised they did not see which direction she went when she left.

Police located the female with her grandmother after they could hear yelling a couple doors down from her residence but the female took off running. Police continued patrols for her and later spoke with her grandmother who advised they had been in contact with the female and she was fine.

MAY-19

7:43 a.m. - report of someone slumped over the steering wheel of a black Honda Element on 7th Avenue N.E. Officers attended the location and woke the male who was passed out in the vehicle. Police conducted a breath demand on the male who blew a warning resulting in a three-day driving suspension and vehicle impoundment. The male was also issued a ticket for operating a motor vehicle without an appropriate driver's licence.

9:55 a.m. - report of a female who has a warrant for her arrest being outside a business on the 400 block of South Service Road E. Police were already aware of the female being in the Swift Current area and were waiting for a response from the out of Province police service that holds the warrant if they would like her arrested on their warrant.

2:56 p.m. - report from a male advising his exgirlfriend had went into his residence when he wasn't home and she is on court ordered conditions not to be at his residence. This matter is still under investigation.

3 p.m. -911 call from a male reporting a hit and run to his vehicle on the 1700 block of North Service Road E.

The male caller had witnessed the collision where a blue Mazda 3 backed into the caller's grey Chevrolet Silverado. The caller then chased them down and all parties were waiting for police in a parking lot on the North Service Road. The driver of the Mazda admitted to hitting the vehicle however they did not see any damage to the vehicle when they got out and looked. No charges were laid in relation to the incident.

8:44 p.m. - report of a female who appears to be a youth hitchhiking on the #1 Highway headed eastbound. Officers located the female, who was an adult, trying to get to Moose Jaw. Police dropped the female off at a business located on North Service Road E.

9:35 p.m. - 911 call from a male stating they heard what sounded like gun shots going off on the 1000 block of Lorne Street E. Officers attended the caller's residence who advised it sounded like the noise had come from a neighbour's residence. Police attended to that residence and spoke to the homeowner who advised they had also heard the noise but had not gone outside to look and thought it sounded like it was coming from further down the street. Police made further neighbourhood inquires and based on the descriptions provided police believed the noise was likely someone setting off fireworks. Police made patrols throughout the area but did not locate anything suspicious.

MAY-20

12:40 a.m. - 911 call of four males with flashlights on the roof of a school on the 800 block of 5th Avenue S.W. Police attended and located six youth on the roof. All were given verbal warnings by police to stay off the property.

1: 15 a.m. -while on patrol, officers stopped a vehicle on the 300 block of Central Avenue N. During the stop police located a male youth who was in breach of his court ordered conditions.

The male youth will be charged with three counts of breaching the conditions of his probation order under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

2:20 a.m. -while on patrol officers issued a ticket to the driver of a black Chevrolet Silverado for operating a motor vehicle without a valid driver's licence.

3:06 a.m. -911 call from a female reporting a male had been inside her residence without her permission on the 100 block of 4th Avenue N.E. Police attended the caller's residence and were advised that a male had been in her house, nothing in the home was wrecked and no one had been hurt. The male was asking the occupants of the residence where everyone was and then left when he realized he was in the wrong house. Officers made several patrols of the area but were unable to locate the male.

5:52 a.m. - report of a commerical burglary alarm at a business on the 1100 block of Central Avenue N. The alarm was cancelled prior to police arrival.

2:02 p.m. - report of the caller's ex-girlfriend resfusing to return their children to him, although she does have primary custody through the courts he has concerns about her substance abuse history.

The male was advised to contact Social Services about any child care concerns he had and to follow the court process in regards to having custody changed.

6:20 p.m. - request from EMS to attend a residence where an adult female is in cardiac arrest. Officers attended the residence and the female was conscious and breathing. She was transported to hospital by EMS for evaluation.

6:51 p.m. - report of a break and enter to the caller's residence on the 200 block of Begg Street W. sometime the day prior when she had been out of her home. Police attended the residence and noted what appeared to be pry marks on her door and her refrigerator and deep freeze had been cleaned out as well as some other canned goods. This matter is still under investigation.

11:33 p.m. - request to conduct a well-being check a female that was supposed to return to a location but hasn't been heard from 11 :00 a.m.

Officers located the female at a commerical dwelling unit.
