Public invited to celebrate Paramedic Services Week
National Paramedic Services Week (May 26-June 1) honours the Emergency Medical Services (EMS) profession and recognizes the professionals who provide this vital public service.
The week also offers an opportunity to better understand the importance of EMS within the healthcare system and our communities.
The week’s national theme is: Celebrating Successes.
EMS providers across the province will be celebrating National Paramedic Services Week with interactive ambulance tours and demonstrations of medical equipment. EMS in the South Zone of Alberta Health Services (AHS) would like to invite the public to eight open house events:
Friday, May 31, 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.: ATB/Snow’s Pharmacy parking lot; 55 Broadway St. N., Raymond.
Saturday, June 1, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Coaldale Health Centre, 2100 11 St., Coaldale.
Saturday, June 1, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Kin Coulee Park 104 South Kin Coule Rd. S.E., Medicine Hat.
Open houses will offer interactive ambulance tours and demonstrations of medical equipment. Equipment and teams on display will vary at events; among them: a power-lift stretcher, a field hospital, a medevac helicopter, and a rapid response bike team.
