Bailey’s Ride starts at the Old Rodeo Grounds (212 A Ave W, Brooks). Annual poker ride as a fundraiser for juvenile arthritis! As well as the ride, there will be bike rodeo games, music, food, prizes, awards and on-site camping available. he 2019 year will consist of a two day event, starting on Friday, May31/2019 @ 5 p.m. with a Poker Run. After returning that evening we will have a BBQ and entertainm­ent. Saturday June 1 at 1 p.m.

Eagle’s Nest Ranch will be spending the weekend tackling some projects together to help clean up the ranch and get it ready for summer camp. Projects include: clearing trails, hauling logs, cutting/ splitting firewood; repairing broken decks and railings; cleaning cabins and facilities (windows, floors, bathrooms); painting shower stalls. There will even be a few jobs for older kids and youth! Butala’s “crone lit” stories are examples of the wisdom and insights of older women and at the same time tributes to the classic literature that inspired them. These stories present the lives of old women – women of experience, who’ve seen much of life, who’ve tasted of its sweetness and its bitter possibilit­ies, and have developed opinions and conclusion­s. 2019 Annual General Meeting for the South West District for CUlture Recreation and Sport takes place at the Claybank Brick Plant National Historic Site 15 kms west of Avonlea on Highway #339, or 1 km east of Claybank Village on Highway #339. 12:30 p.m. Lunch and Registrati­on and the 1:30 p.m. AGM Starts Followed by pie and coffee, and self-guided walking tours of the brick plant.
