Orlando and Vivian Schmidt, along with their married children (5 in all), had dreamed for many years of a cross-Canada trip. Earlier this week they rode in to Swift Current from Maple Creek. They convened at Christ the Redeemer Catholic Church for some refreshments and were given a short tour by Kevin Zerr of their growing project that supports the Foodgrains Bank as well as local food security and nutrition initiatives. The Schmidts are grateful for the opportunity to meet with supporters of the Foodgrains Bank all across Canada, receiving hospitality and encouragement along the way. Their goal is to raise $60,000 over the 6,000 km route from Victoria to Halifax. Donations can be made online at https://foodgrainscling/
