Frontier Days 4H Show results
Members of 11 different 4-H clubs participated in three days of competition at the Frontier Days livestock show, June 27-29.
The livestock schedule included events such as steer and heifer shows, a steer sale, showmanship and grooming competitions.
A key goal of the livestock show at Frontier Days is to provide a venue for youth to improve their skills and to learn about sound livestock practices in a hands-on way.
Below are results from the 4-H cattle show:
Heifer projects:
Hereford champion – Mikaila Peutert, Rockglen; Angus champion – Eric Smith, Mankota; Shorthorn champion – Hailey Sibbald, Beechy; Simmental champion – Brooklyn Christmann, Ernfold; Other breeds champion – Callie Buckler, Rockglen; Heifers grand champion – Eric Smith, Mankota.
Futurity classes:
First and second year showing winner – Eric Smith, Mankota; Third year showing winner and highest number of points in three years of showing – Kade Gavelin, Mankota.
Supreme champion 4-H female:
Grand champion – Eric Smith, Mankota; Reserve grand champion – Kade Gavelin, Mankota.
