A torch re­lay at three lo­ca­tions in south­west Saskatchew­an helped to cre­ate ex­cite­ment in the run-up to the 2019 Western Canada Sum­mer Games. The first leg of the torch re­lay took place through the streets of Swift Cur­rent, Aug. 3. The re­lay started with a cer­e­mony at Mar­ket Square. Nine torch­bear­ers took turns to carry a torch along a route that fin­ished at Mar­ket Square. The sec­ond leg of the torch re­lay was held at Lac Pel­letier Re­gional Park, Aug. 4. There were eight torch­bear­ers and sec­tions of the route were com­pleted on the lake in a ca­noe/kayak. The fi­nal leg of the torch re­lay took place at Saskatchew­an Land­ing Provin­cial Park, Aug. 5. The eight torch­bear­ers com­pleted the route by walk­ing, run­ning, cy­cling or swim­ming. The torch­bear­ers in Swift Cur­rent were: Hunter Berg, Jeff Cham­bers, Linda El­ler­ing­ton, Mai­lyn Leyeza, Jackie Maf­fen­beier, Harv Martinez, Aleah Nickel, Nolan Par­adis, and Ty Zinger. The torch­bear­ers at Lac Pel­letier Re­gional Park were: James Bo­bick, Tyrel Farnsworth, Darby-Jayne Fletcher, Ken Friesen, Sara Kuntz, Michelle McKen­zie, Ella Toles, and Margo Zerr. The torch­bear­ers at Saskatchew­an Land­ing Provin­cial Park were: Lind­say Al­liban, Alexan­dria Boss, Eve Boss, El­liot Dun­calfe, Ros­alie Flynn, Allen Graves, Scott Joseph, and B'yaul­ing Toni.
