The 7th annual Young Ranchman’s All Breeds Livestock Show took place in Swift Current, Aug. 29 to Sept. 1. The event started on Aug. 29 with the public speaking competition in the training centre at the Pattison Agriculture dealership. The remaining activities took place at Kinetic Exhibition Park. The event drew 165 participants and 206 head of cattle were shown during the various livestock activities. The event provided an opportunity for youth up to the age of 21 years with an interest in livestock and agriculture to develop skills and knowledge through showmanship and team grooming competitions, while a prospect steer show and a conformation show for different breed classes also took place during the weekend. Participants were able to express their creativity in art and photography contests, and there was an educational clinic. The show included the Little Ranchers program with learning opportunities in a fun environment for children eight years and younger. Below are results from the livestock show: Supreme champion female – Carson Liebreich (Radville, SK), Reserve supreme champion female – Wyatt Bradford (Eckville, AB). Peewee showmanship champion – Roan Bosch (Coutts, AB), Peewee showmanship reserve champion – Shiloh Mickler (Fillmore, SK). Junior showmanship champion – Becca Lees (Arcola, SK), Junior showmanship reserve champion – Eric Smith (Mankota, SK). Intermediate showmanship champion – Riley Bohrson (Hanley, SK), Intermediate showmanship reserve champion – Will Bradford (Eckville, AB). Senior showmanship champion – Tyson Buist (Waldeck, SK), Senior showmanship reserve champion – Kylee Dixon (Arcola, SK).
