COVID-19 virus con­cerns shuts down pro­grams, shows at Lyric Theatre

Gor­don McCall, Artis­tic/Ex­ec­u­tive Di­rec­tor re­ported that the Lyric Theatre will sus­pend pro­grams and shows for the fore­see­able fu­ture.

“As of noon, March 14, 2020, Lyric Theatre Artis­tic and Ex­ec­u­tive Di­rec­tor, Gor­don McCall, wishes to an­nounce that The Lyric Theatre is sus­pend­ing pro­duc­tion op­er­a­tions un­til ad­vised by health au­thor­i­ties that the Coro­n­avirus dan­ger has re­ceded enough to en­sure the safety of all peo­ple par­tic­i­pat­ing in and fre­quent­ing the Lyric Theatre.

The World Pre­miere of Wendy Lock­man’s new play, Burn Rub­ber, Dolly, was sched­uled to open March 19, has now been post­poned un­til Oc­to­ber 2020. It will be­come the first pro­duc­tion of the 2020/2021 “Sparks In The Dark” se­ries. Tick­ets al­ready pur­chased for this month’s pro­duc­tion will be re­deemable for any “Sparks In The Dark” play in the 2020/2021 sea­son by re­turn­ing your cur­rent Burn Rub­ber, Dolly tick­ets to the Lyric Box of­fice, once the theatre re­opens.

All other events, Open Stage, Write Out Loud, Youth Tal­ent Night, Swift Cur­rent

Im­prov Theatre, Lis­ten To Dis theatre com­pany, and Blenders Mu­sic Se­ries will also be post­poned un­til fur­ther no­tice.

Blenders Mu­sic Se­ries, Ex­ec­u­tive Di­rec­tor, Terry Bachtis would like to in­form the pub­lic that Blenders Mu­sic Se­ries will be post­poned un­til fur­ther no­tice.

“We re­gret to in­form you the Ryan McMa­hon per­for­mance on April the 4th will be can­celed. Ticket hold­ers may re­deem their tick­ets for a reg­u­lar fu­ture Blenders show of choice within the 2020\21 sea­son. Please check our web­site for on­go­ing up­dates. blender­smu­sic.ca “

The safety and well-be­ing of our com­mu­nity is our top pri­or­ity, as we all ex­pe­ri­ence con­cerns about COVID-19 (Coro­n­avirus).
