SWIFT CURRENT'S BEST:

Special Olympics Swift Current hosted a swim meet at the Aquatic Centre, Feb. 13. The majority of the competitors were from the local club, and they were joined by a couple of swimmers from Humboldt and Saskatoon. The Swift Current swimmers have been training since September and they were ready to show off their hard work. It had been over two years since their last competition. This swim meet was also a highlight for some swimmers who are hoping to make Team Saskatchewan to attend the Canada Games this summer. These swimmers attended a full day of training on Feb. 12, which included mental training, a nutrition session, strength training and a pool session. Two local swimmers are trying out for the provincial team. Below are the results for the Swift Current swimmers from the Feb. 13 swim meet.

Katie Durant – 1st 50m freestyle, 4th 100m backstroke, 3rd 50m breaststroke, 1st 200m breaststroke, 2nd 200m freestyle, 4th 200m freestyle relay.

Chayce Foster – 3th 50m freestyle, 5th 100m backstroke, 4th 100m freestyle, 3rd 50m freestyle kick, 5th 50m backstroke, 4th 200m freestyle relay.

Tamara Gleim – 2nd 50m freestyle, 5th 100m backstroke, 4th 100m freestyle, 1st 50m freestyle kick, 4th 50m backstroke, 5th 200m freestyle relay.

David Philip – 2nd 50m freestyle, 2nd 100m backstroke, 1st 50m breaststroke, 2nd 200m freestyle relay.

Rahimay Priebe – 2nd 50m freestyle, 2nd 100m backstroke, 1st 50m breaststroke, 2nd 100m freestyle, 1st 100m breaststroke, 3rd 50m backstroke.

Chelzee Proctor – 3rd 50m freestyle, 2nd 50m freestyle kick, 5th 50m backstroke, 2nd 200m freestyle relay.

Harold Robinson – 2nd 200m backstroke, 5th 50m freestyle, 3rd 100m backstroke, 3rd 100m freestyle, 3rd 50m backstroke.

Jenae Ruetz – 1st 200m backstroke, 1st 50m butterfly, 1st 200m intermediate, 3rd 100m freestyle, 1st 200m freestyle.

Tyler Servant – 1st 200m backstroke, 1st 50m butterfly, 1st 200m intermediate, 1st 100m freestyle, 1st 800m freestyle, 1st 50m backstroke, 4th 200m freestyle relay. Avery Underhill – 3rd 50m freestyle, 3rd 100m backstroke, 2nd 100m breaststroke, 2nd 50m backstroke, 5th 200m freestyle relay. Tate Zimmerman – 1st 50m freestyle, 1st 100m backstroke, 2nd 50m breaststroke, 2nd 100m freestyle, 2nd 800m freestyle, 2nd 50m backstroke.
