We have been forced to adjust our club times to Tuesdays - 9:15 a.m.; Wednesdays - 9:15 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. for Novice class Thursdays - 9:15 a.m. For info - call Tracy at 306-741-7274. Explore Métis Traditions and Culture with the Swift Current Branch Library and Métis Local #35 throughout March
-On Saturday, March 12 and 19 at 10 am; join a Traditional Métis Beading Workshop. In this two-part workshop, learn the history of the Flower Beadwork People. Métis Artist, Tekeyla Friday will demonstrate traditional Métis flower beading patterns and show participants this method of beading on leather. Families will work together to bead and create their own pouches. These programs are for ages 10 and up. Children 13 and under must be accompanied by an adult. Space is limited so register early. -On Saturday, March 26 at 10 am, join Creeland Dance Instructors, Amy Seesequasis and Angel Proper to learn Traditional Métis Jigging. Learn the history of the Métis Jig, The Red River Jig and Le Danse du Chrochete and the dance steps. There is no prior dance experience necessary. Everyone is welcome to attend. This program will take place at the Colonel Clifton Centre but space is limited so please call the Swift Current Branch Library to register. Sask. Health Mandates will be followed. The Swift Current Branch Library is excited to be starting up our Maker Kid’s Space program again, Mondays at 4 pm. This is a hands-on opportunity for kids ages 9-12 to tinker and explore. This weekly program is an interactive Literacy and S.T.E.M (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) family program. Children ages 3 and up can join Cori and Tekeyla for a picture book story, some rhymes and songs and a S.T.E.M related activity.
