Community Services is excited to announce a new spring campaign – Clean Up-Green Up.

Residents are invited to help kick start a new community clean up initiative and there are two ways to get involved. The first is an Earth Day Clean Up on April 22nd. Residents are encouraged to pick up garbage in their local neighborhood areas, scan a code on the City Garbage cans and enter to win great prizes.

The second is by becoming a “Garbage Groupie.” Businesses, organizations, families, or friend groups are encouraged to trash the trash from April 22nd to June 30th. Sign up online and adopt an area of the community to clean up.

“We have a beautiful community. But, when spring arrives, unfortunately, so does all types of debris. With all the great upcoming events happening in June, we really want to clean up and green up our community for our fellow neighbors and visitors to the city,” states Mayor Al Bridal. “This program is a great way to track the areas that get cleaned and for participants to win some prizes while serving their community.”

The City of Swift Current will provide garbage bags, gloves, and high visibility vests for any individual or group requesting to be part of the cleanup.
