- Contributed

The Medicine Hat Health Foundation just wrapped up its 25th anniversary year, and by all accounts it will be in the record books as the most successful year ever! Since 1996, the Health Foundation has raised over $18.1 million dollars.

Some highlights of the past year include the “Giving Hope for Mental Health” campaign bringing in $380,000 to date, 43 equipment purchases for various healthcare departments, and a successful online auction. The community also rallied together last fall, purchasing over 900 gift cards for the foundation to distribute to our local healthcare heroes.

The staff and the board of trustees would like to take this opportunity to thank the community for all their support over the past 25 years. They also extend their thanks and gratitude to all healthcare professionals for being on the front line during a difficult year.

The next campaign, “Big Hearts for Tiny Heartbeats,” launches later this spring. Funds raised will be used to purchase an innovative central monitoring system for Labour and Delivery.

Watch for the return of their online auction from May 8 - 15. Registration is also open for the Teeing Off Fore Men’s Health Golf Tournament taking place on Monday, June 20. Information for both events can be found on the events page of their website at ourhealthfoundation.ca.

The Medicine Hat & District Health Foundation is the official charity of the Medicine Hat Regional Hospital and Alberta Health Services for Southeastern Alberta. The Health Foundation is a 100% local, registered, non-profit charitable organization that is dedicated to making a difference in healthcare.
