Crestwood Rec Centre extending hours, programming

- By James Tubb Alberta Newspaper Group

The Crestwood Recreation Centre will be extending its hours and offering additional programs beginning May 2.

The centre, which is currently open from 5:45 a.m. to 1 p.m. on weekdays, will soon be open from 5:45 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Monday to Thursday, and 5:45 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Fridays.

Several evening programs have been added to fill the time, including aquafit classes, which run daily, and yoga classes, which will be held Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Public swim and lane swim times have also been extended, something the Medicine Hat Waves swim club will be taking advantage of as they return to the centre, practising from 4:30-6 p.m. daily.

The city would like to remind Hatters its Fair Entry Program, which reduces admission prices for low income individuals and families, is available for all city-owned recreation centres.

To learn more about the extended hours or Fair Entry Program, check the City of Medicine Hat’s website.
