Conservation officers investigate abandon deer carcasses near Piapot
At 8:30 a.m. on Sept. 13, Conservation Officers received information regarding a shot and left, White Tail deer buck, 29 kilometers Southeast of Piapot, SK. Officers responded and found the white tail buck had been shot and left to waste. Upon further investigation of the area, a second White tail buck was located, killed in the same fashion nearby the first animal in the same field.
It is believed that at least one individual entered onto private land, opening a closed gate, then drove up to the deer carcasses but did not harvest anything. Conservation Officers collected evidence at the scene and believe the deer were killed between 8:00 PM on September 12 and 8:00 AM September 13th.
