Fall Livestock
A heavy horse competition took place during Ranchman’s Ridin’ and Recitin’ at Kinetic Park in Swift Current, Sept. 24. Ranchman's is an annual event held in the fall to showcase the region's western heritage. It is organized by the Swift Current Agricultural and Exhibition Association and activities include livestock competitions and cowboy poetry. This year's Ranchman's was part of the new Frontier Fall Fair, which also included cultural entertainment during the day and a bull riding competition in the evening. The heavy horse show provided an opportunity for horse owners to demonstrate the ability of their horses to carry out various tasks during a chore team competition. The results are: 1st Andy Halborg, Elbow, SK; 2nd Chris Bertram, Maple Creek, SK; 3rd Glen Bishop, Dunmore, AB; 4th Greg Malinowski, Outlook, SK.
