Crowsnest Pass RCMP arrest and charge male for numerous offences

On Jan. 3, 2023, Crowsnest Pass RCMP received a call for a suspicious vehicle at the Pass Powder Keg ski hill. Staff at the ski hill recognized the vehicle from past instances where fuel was stolen. Members of the Crowsnest Pass RCMP detachment acted quickly and located a lone male in the act of trying to enter the locked shop. He was arrested and found to be in possession of break-in tools.

A search warrant was executed on the vehicle he was driving and a firearm with ammunition was found, along with drug parapherna­lia and a small amount of drugs.

Craig Peterson (32), a resident of Lundbreck, Alta., has been charged with:

• Fail to Comply with Release Order Condition

• Fail to Comply with Probation Order

• Weapon Possession Contrary to Order

• Possess Break-in Instrument­s

• Careless Use of a Firearm

• Possession of a Scheduled Substance Peterson remains in custody until his next court date on Jan. 12, 2023.
