Multi-faceted sponsorship makes UFA the “Official Fuel and Farm Supplier of Lethbridge & District Exhibition”

-

A long-time supporter of Southern Alberta’s agriculture community, UFA Co-operative Ltd (UFA) is once again stepping forward as part of a multi-year, multi-faceted sponsorship agreement with Lethbridge & District Exhibition. As the “Official Fuel and Farm Supplier of Lethbridge & District Exhibition,” the new sponsorship sees UFA take on an increased role in the new Agri-food Hub & Trade Centre, in the Saturday Lethbridge Farmers’ Market, and in the Lethbridge & District Pro Rodeo.

As part of the agreement, one of four 26,000 square foot trade halls in the recently-opened Agri-food Hub & Trade Centre will be named after UFA, while UFA will also be recognized as the presenting sponsor of both the Saturday Lethbridge Farmers’ Market, and the Ladies’ Barrel Racing at the Lethbridge & District Pro Rodeo

“When you talk agriculture in Alberta, you have to talk about UFA,” says Mike Warkentin, Lethbridge & District Exhibition CEO. “UFA fuels farmers across the province and drives the agriculture industry forward, so we are fortunate to have them as our ‘Official Fuel and Farm Supplier,’ which helps to offset our organizational operating costs. Additionally, having them involved in the Agri-food Hub & Trade Centre, the Saturday Farmers’ Market, and the Lethbridge & District Pro Rodeo is a natural fit as UFA continues to highlight the many ways agriculture touches lives in Southern Alberta.”

The UFA Hall is the southernmost trade hall in the Agri-food Hub & Trade Centre, and is the new home of the Saturday Lethbridge Farmers’ Market presented by UFA, which will move into the UFA Hall beginning this Saturday (Sept. 16) for the final five weeks of the Farmers’ Market season. As a sponsor of the market, UFA will ensure the ongoing success of the market which runs weekly throughout the spring, summer and early fall at Lethbridge & District Exhibition.

The UFA Hall is also equipped to host a variety of events, including trade shows, agriculture events, community gatherings, and a wide-variety of entertainment options.

“These new sponsorship initiatives in Lethbridge really mark our support of the Agri-food Hub & Trade Centre vision,” says Kimberly MacDonald, Manager, Community Investment at UFA. “We are connected throughout the Southern Alberta landscape with our Farm & Ranch Supply stores and Petroleum Agencies & Cardlocks; we are aligned with the vision of Lethbridge & District Exhibition in the importance of providing space to bring the community together. Our investment here also offers a wonderful opportunity to be at the forefront of the rapidly advancing agri-food sector within innovation and development.”
