Quonset Days, an annual fundraising event organized in memory of Peter Biemans, proudly announced today that they raised $70,000 for the ALS Society of Alberta during their 2023 event, bringing their 2023 donation total to $103,000. This remarkable achievement brings Quonset Days' total contribution to the ALS Society of Alberta to an outstanding $651,185.64 since its inception in 2010.

The July weekend-long country music festival headliners included Tim Hicks, Jade Eagleson, and Madeline Merlo, with local bands adding to the lineup. Over 1300 attendees were welcomed to the grounds located on the Biemans farm outside of Seven Persons. In addition to top Canadian country music, attendees enjoyed the legendary tractor races as well as silent and live auctions, with all funds going to the ALS Society of Alberta.

ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis) is a devastating illness that gradually robs individuals of their ability to control their bodies while keeping their mental faculties intact. Peter Biemans, whose memory the event honors, bravely battled ALS until he passed away in August 2009. His journey served as a poignant reminder of the urgent need for ALS research and support.

Quonset Days was established by the Biemans family in 2010 to raise funds and awareness for the ALS Society of Alberta while celebrating Peter's life. The first event, organized in just over a month, raised over $7,500. Since then, Quonset Days has grown substantially and has earned the reputation of being the "Greatest Outdoor Party on Dirt."

“We were once again blown away by the support we received and the money we were able to raise for the ALS Society of Alberta. This event is a testament to the community we live in and every year it grows thanks to the attendees and sponsors” shared Trevor Biemans, Founder and President of the Quonset Days Foundation, and son of Peter Biemans.

Quonset Days hosts two events a year, with their formal Gala event being announced in October and July music festival headliners being announced in November. For more information on Quonset Days, visit www.quonsetdays.com.
