Agreement will make YalosTM seed treatment solution available to spring wheat, durum and barley growers in Canada for 2024 planting season.

Cereal farmers in Canada will have access to improved yield for spring wheat, durum and barley crops thanks to a distribution agreement with Winfield United Canada and its retail owners announced by Lavie Bio for its bio-inoculant seed treatment Yalos.

The partnership will support the launch of Yalos in Canada with a focus on key agricultural regions including Saskatchewan, Alberta and Manitoba. Lavie Bio intends to engage strategic distribution partners to expand its market reach across North America.

“WinField United Canada has a proven track record of launching innovative products, which supports our strategy and the adoption of Yalos,” says Russel Putland, Lavie Bio Executive Vice President of Commercial Operations and North America General Manager. “We are proud to introduce, together with WinField, a product that will increase profitability for the Canadian farmer and is also environmentally friendly.”

Backed by Corteva AgriScience and Evogene, a leading ag-biologicals company, Yalos uses a combination of two microbes to enhance nutrient availability and uptake, improving plant health and maximizing production in sub-optimal regions within fields. In Lavie Bio’s third-party conducted trials, Yalos demonstrated a yield advantage of 3-4 bushels per acre in wheat, durum and barley.

The trial data Lavie Bio compiled over multiple years and unique environmental conditions illustrates a four-to-one return on investment (ROI) for farmers, given current market values. Additionally, Yalos is part of a complete seed offering that requires minimal change to a farmer’s existing seed treatment process.

“WinField United Canada is excited to partner with Lavie Bio in an exclusive independent retailer distribution agreement on Yalos,” says Greg McDonald, President and General Manager of WinField United Canada. “We are committed to the success of independent retailers across Canada and bringing them unique product offerings and partnerships such as this one with Lavie Bio. With Lavie Bio’s expertise in biological solutions and WinField United’s proven track record in successfully launching new products and expert distribution, we are looking forward to this new partnership. It further advances our commitment to drive innovation in crop
