Brass Camel returns to Lucky Charlie’s in March

- Contributed

Brass Camel is returning to Lucky Charlie’s in Swift Current on Friday, March 15th as part of their ten-week, coast-to-coast Over the Hump tour and they are bringing Regina’s rising rock acolytes Dead Levee with them!

For the Vancouver-based Brass Camel, 2023 was a transformative year. After several consecutive sell-out shows at home and the release of their debut album, “Brass”, the unique funk/ prog-infused rock group -which oftens draws comparison to acts as diverse as Supertramp, Rush and King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard- hit the road on their first national tour which took them to Montreal and back. This successful first run energized the group, alerted the industry to their presence and saw them wrapping up the year with a performance at a sold out Commodore Ballroom. This spring will see Brass Camel embarking on the coast-tocoast Over the Hump tour before returning to the west to record their sophomore album. Come July, they’re again hitting the road for a summer full of festival dates.

Their painstakingly crafted live presentation features double-neck guitars, custom stainless steel drums, huge marquee lights and more. It’s a lot to fit on a club stage but all ingredients that make their concert an unforgettable one and, perhaps, is part of the reason why they’ve been able to make touring Canada as an indie band work.

The Swift Current stop of their tour features Regina’s Dead Levee who have been on quite a hot streak over the last couple years. Recently they performed at Mosaic Stadium for the Rough Riders’ Labour Day Classic, paired with One Bad Son at Casino Regina and have racked up over 75,000 streams of their single “Shout”, which has been featured on Hockey Night in Canada Broadcasts.
