Brooks RCMP busy with many robberies, assault case and a sad end to a search

Brooks RCMP seek assistance to locate missing male - Update Brooks, Alta. – Brooks RCMP advise that Enrique Reimer has been located deceased. His death is not deemed to be suspicious.

RCMP send condolence­s to the family and friends of Enrique. Brooks RCMP – Updated Charges in Break and Enter - File 2021-1411496 On September 20, 2021 Brooks RCMP responded to a report of a break and enter to Martin Chrysler which occurred in the early morning hours. A forklift was used to drive through the doors and a 2021 Dodge Ram 3500 was stolen. This vehicle was later recovered in Calgary 2 weeks later.

Physical evidence left on scene was sent for forensic analysis and received no matches initially. A positive match to identify the suspect has now been received and charges have been forwarded. 24-year-old, Anthony Favell has been charged with 1 count of Break and Enter and 1 count of Theft over $5000. Favell was currently in remand awaiting other criminal matters and appeared in Court on Feb 7, 2024 and was remanded for another Brooks Court appearance on Feb 28, 2024 for this matter.

Brooks RCMP – Assault with a Weapon – File 2024-235161

On February 21, 2024 at 3:10 pm, Brooks RCMP responded to a report of an assault in the Meadow Lake residentia­l complex. Police attended and located a 31-year-old male victim suffering from multiple stab wounds. The male was brought to the Brooks Health Center for treatment of nonlife-threatenin­g injuries, he has since been released from hospital. The investigat­ion is ongoing to determine the factors surroundin­g the reason for the assault and forwarding of criminal charges. This appears to be an isolated incident between two individual­s known to each other that reside in Brooks. rooks RCMP – Break and Enter – Jewellery Store – File 2024-232430 On February 21st, 2024 at 5:43 am, Brooks RCMP responded to a report of a glass break alarm at Mareta’s Fine Jewellery. Officers responded in moments, however the suspects had already fled, as there was a time delay in the alarm to notify 911. Stolen was a large amount of jewellery (exact amount still being determined). CCTV showed two fully-covered suspects leaving on foot from the complex and then a likely an awaiting vehicle. A forensic examinatio­n was completed of the scene. Efforts to locate further CCTV and possible getaway vehicle are being sought.
