With the agriculture industry coming together in Lethbridge for Ag Expo presented by Farm Credit Canada, the setting is right for two unique events that give farmers and producers to learn more about issues and opportunities important to them.

‘The Dish' and ‘Grow Better, with Biology' are two free events being held in conjunction with Ag Expo at the Agrifood Hub & Trade Centre and are open to Ag Expo attendees.

“Events like ‘The Dish' and ‘Grow Better, with Biology' are important to Ag Expo as part of an all-encompassing agriculture showcase,” says Peri

Price, Ag Expo Show Manager. “We're thankful to our partners at AFSC and AdvancedAg who are bringing these events to Ag Expo, and we look forward to hearing the discussions they provoke.”

‘The Dish' was presented by AFSC on Tuesday, Feb. 27 in the Lakeview Salon. Guests heard from keynote speaker Alex Offerdahl from Watts and Associates as he speaks about opportunities and challenges related to perennial risk management in both Canada and the United States, AFSC's current position and future goals for the program, and current impacts on the agriculture industry helping them with their risk management decisions.

The event also featured a panel discussion focused on connecting insurance coverage options with management practices and cattle producer realities. The event is free, however tickets are required. They can be acquired in advance by using the code AFSCDish.

‘Grow Better, with Biology' is presented by AdvancedAg and took place Feb. 28 in the Lakeview Salon.

This speaker series focuses on how properly integrating biologicals can have an impact in overall soil health, fertilizer efficiency and sustainable crop production.

The four-part series will have experts discussing new research findings and what that could mean for the future of the ag industry, focused on soil health, biotechnology, results and regenerative farming.
