SouthGrow Regional Initiative and SAITI collaborate to enhance investor accessibility with new community profiles
SouthGrow Regional Initiative, an economic development alliance consisting of thirty communities in south central Alberta, in partnership with the Southern Alberta Investment and Trade Initiative (SAITI), is pleased to announce the launch of comprehensive community profiles on their respective websites, www.southgrow.com and www.saiti.ca.
SouthGrow is committed to fostering economic growth and prosperity in the south central Alberta region through collaboration and strategic initiatives. SAITI, a coalition of economic development partners including SouthGrow, Alberta SouthWest, Economic Development Lethbridge, and Lethbridge County, focuses on marketing the region globally to attract investment and trade opportunities.
The newly added community profiles on both www.southgrow.com and www.saiti.ca will serve as resources for partners at Invest Alberta and Invest in Canada, providing key information about as many communities in the SouthGrow and AlbertaSW regions as possible. As part of a province-wide initiative that includes all 9 regional economic development alliances, these profiles will allow investment attraction initiatives to quickly and easily access up-to-date details on hundreds of communities.
“The community profiles showcase the importance of cooperative collaboration between provincial programs and our local communities,” said Bev Thornton, Executive Director of Alberta SouthWest. “Our regional organizations compile the reliable and insightful municipal information that can support the Invest Alberta focus on global investment attraction.”
The community profiles feature key details about each community, including each community’s top sectors, business start up details, workforce demographics, and other essential data that highlight the advantages of investing in the Southern Alberta region.
“This project contributes to the province-wide economic development ecosystem” emphasized Jim Willett, Chairperson of SouthGrow. “When the grassroots organizations in rural Alberta are committed to gathering and publishing their economic data, it makes it easier for the Province to access data on a broad scale, which means better investment opportunities for all of us.”
Ben Young, Director of Investment Attraction at Economic Development Lethbridge, emphasized the importance of regional investment attraction initiatives for the City of Lethbridge, stating, “An investment attraction win for the region is a win for the city. When the region lands a new processing facility, the businesses in the city benefit. We are happy to support region-wide initiatives like this because we know the city wins with them.”
