- Contributed

Swift Current Municipal RCMP are requesting assistance in identifying three male suspects involved in a Theft from a business on the 1800 block of Memorial Drive on March 1, 2024. The list of stolen items includes a number of Garmin GPS devices and dash cameras with the total value of approximately $4200.00. Video surveillance shows one male tampering with a lock to gain access to the items in a showcase and two other males taking products from the glass case. The males are described as:

• all of possible Middle Eastern/North African background;

• one wearing a baby blue upside down smiley face ball cap with a long white winter coat, possibly grey pants, well maintained short hair dark coloured beard with a black t-shirt and silver cell phone - appears to be slim and shorter;

• one wearing dark blue sweat pants, black running shoes, possible dark green collared sweater, black with a red and white symbol ball cap - appears tall with a medium build;

• one wearing dark blue sweat pants, black “diesel” shirt with a longer black winter coat, black ball cap with a small white symbol, lesser maintained dark coloured short hair beard and a possible crown tattoo on the top of his left hand, taller and with a larger gut;

• all three arrived in a 2011 black Chevrolet Equinox with an Ontario plate.

Photos of the three males are attached. Swift Current RCMP believe that these males are part of a travelling group targeting businesses in Western Canada stealing tools, jewelry, electronics and perfumes. Swift Current RCMP recommends businesses:

• To be vigilant with customer service

• Watch for individuals trying to distract staff members while another is pocketing product

• Install security cameras on high ticket or desirable items, and cameras are at head height rather than birds eye views

• Lock display cabinets and, if possible, install alarms on doors if they are opened without a proper key

• If staff suspect shoplifting is occurring, ensure their safety first. Obtain as much detail about the suspects, vehicles associated to the suspect and the items stolen. Contact RCMP as soon as practicable.
