Willow Creek Gospel Jamboree will be inspiring

- BY ANDREA CAROL

The 2018 Willow Creek Gospel Music Jamboree is hosting its 21st annual event-filled weekend as the big weekend is here (July 27-29) in Granum at the Granview Recreation Park. You are invited to join them under the Big Top. The event is free of charge and donations are welcome.

The mission of the Willow Creek Gospel Music Jamboree is to present the gospel through music.

They value interfaith relationships, and their Christian heritage. They seek to promote their family friendly communities, and through their Jamboree, seek to provide a venue for developing Western Canadian Christian musicians.

This is also a venue for Christians to enjoy good, quality Christian music and be encouraged in their walk of faith. It is hoped each person in attendance will come away with a deeper, renewed faith.

“We are 21 years strong. It’s been a very popular event. It’s free of charge and we take free-will offerings. It’s in the RV park here in Granum. We rent a big tent and put it up. We have had up to 1000 people in past years and we expect between 600-800 people this year,” said Fran Hanson, President of Willow Creek Gospel Jamboree Association. “There is an all-day Vacation Bible School for kids Grade 1 to Grade 6. We try to get the very best in Gospel Music. This year we are getting the Keepers of Faith Quartet from Washington. They are favourites of the Jamboree.”

The lineup of entertainment includes: Keepers of the Faith Quartet, Trudel Family, Joyful Meldoy Trio, The Taito Family and Fort Macleod Alliance Church Worship Group.

Keepers of the Faith Quartet:

Keepers of the faith are made up of four male vocalist who love to serve God with their talents of singing.

The group consists of Lima Taito, Agaese Taito, Mason Mataele and Kevin Mills.

Keepers of the Faith is probably the most diverse Southern Gospel Quartet you'll ever meet.

That diversity is very evident in their unique style. Keepers of the Faith bring the deep south island flavor, a taste of oldie but goody, and the soul of saved men to the genre of Southern Gospel Quartet Music.

The Keepers of the Faith have been in ministry for over 15 years. The ministry as a whole started out as a prison ministry team that would visit brothers and sisters locked and shunned from society.

Their roots also consist of visiting hospitals and singing for every room that would want the uplifting of good old harmony singing.

The Keepers of the Faith now is a renowned Gospel quartet who are touring and living to the standard of their name.

The Keepers of the Faith Ministry sing, preach, and most importantly live the Gospel of the Jesus Christ. It is their prayer and hope that you see the reflection of Christ within every aspect of their Ministry.

Trudel Family: It’s near impossible to hear the Trudel’s and not be a fan. Their high-energy and the love for what they are doing transpires onto their listeners.

The family’s love for bluegrass and classic country music is evident in the uniqueness of their sound and the joy they bring to the stage. Their passionate harmonies and love of Old-Tyme music gets all ages tapping their toes.

Joyful Melody Trio: Joyful Melody Trio is one of Alberta’s busiest Southern Gospel music ministries. A retired pastors wife and two farmers daughters joined together in word and song since October of 2002. They understand the importance of spreading a commitment of excellence and clear communication of the Gospel in word and song. This has become a defining characteristic as they encourage and lead their audiences to reach out and touch Jesus.

They strive to ensure words are clearly heard and understood with the Gospel message.

The Taito Family: The Taito Family has dedicated their lives in Service to Jesus Christ and what being a Christian is all about. We have decided to share our Talents and Gifts and especially the Redeeming Power that comes from falling in Love with Jesus Christ. We look forward for the opportunity to share what Jesus Christ has done in our lives to you.

Guest Speaker: Agaese Taito is also one of the three founders of the Keepers of the Faith Ministry. Agaese is second eldest child of four and the brother to Lima Taito. Agaese is the groups personal booking agent and he also sings the Baritone part of the quartet. Agaese Taito is the old soul of the group and when called upon he goes the extra mile.
