August 10 – Blind Canyon

Front Canyon Reclamatio­n Hike and Weed Pull – Blind Canyon, Once again, In conjunctio­n with the Nature Conservanc­y of Canada CCWC will be organizing a weed pull at the old farm site in the canyon.

Enjoy the beautiful scenery and learn about the history of the area. There will be a moderate hike of about 1 hour into the site. Packhorses will assist in removal of the weeds. Contact Wendy Ryan at 403-627-4106 to register or email office@ccwc.ab.ca to register or for further informatio­n.

August 10-11 — Coalhurst

The Miner’s Days Historical Associatio­n of Coalhurst is hosting its annual Miners Days on August 10-11. Friday night from 6-11p.m. will have entertainm­ent in the Social Area of Miners Park. Saturday starts with pancake breakfast at 7:30 a.m., parade at 11am followed by events at Miners Park from noon-4 p.m.

August 10-12 — Nobleford

Nobleford Centennial Celebratio­ns: Come celebrate with the town of Nobleford! Lots of exciting things happening all weekend: Friday museum displays, farmer's market, beer gardens & hot dogs, family night in the park. Saturday - pancake breakfast, parade, show 'n shine, BBQ lunch, bench fair, quilt & fine arts show, Noble Central tours, kids' activities, dinner (pre-purchased tickets), street dance, fireworks. Sunday - community tours, church service. All this and more! There will be many opportunit­ies to meet friends and neighbours - old and new. Milk RIver Kinette Charity Fun Mixed Golf Scramble (50/50 draw; door prizes; $5,000 Hole In One Prize; registrati­on 9:30 a.m.; shotgun 10:30 a.m. 18 holes, lunch and dinner included. $70 per person. August 11 — Lethbridge

AppleFest! 2018: AppleFest! 2018 will be on August 11th at Galt Gardens (601 - 3rd Avenue South). The 'Learning Tent Workshops will take place at the SAAG. August 14 — Castle Area

Sartoris Road Weed Pull: Once again we will be removing invasive species from the Sartoris Road area, please join us; pull some weeds, have some fun and meet new people concerned about the Castle. Bring a lunch, drinking water, sun screen and insect repellent. A great way to educate yourself on the invasive species of south west Alta.

August 15 — Lethbridge

Mountain View Cemetery Tour: Guided historic walking tours of the cemetery: Mountain View Cemetery Eternal Flame on Scenic Drive South in Lethbridge. It goes from 7- 8:30 p.m. See: www.galtmuseum.com

August 16 — Crowsnest Pass

Crowsnest Community Market Market Art Walk takes place at the Gazebo park in downtown Blairmore (13019 20th Avenue). Food, crafts, artisans, music, entertainm­ent. Goes from 4-8 p.m. Check out www.crowsnestm­arket.com

August 18 — Carmanguay

Carmangay Community Garage Sale August 18 9 a.m.-2 p.m. Look for the balloons. Quilters Cafe at the Senior Center 9 a.m–2 p.m.

Fifth annual Milk River Scramble. 10:30 shotgun. Enjoy 18 holes of golf, with prizes, lunch and dinner provided. $85 if cart is needed or $75 with your own cart.
