August 23-25— Lethbridge

Every year in August on the last full weekend before the long weekend, the Taber and District Chamber of Commerce hosts the largest free family festival in Western Canada. It celebrates with a parade, live music, entertainm­ent, rides, chili cookoff, show and shine, skateboard corn-test, huge fireworks, and much more! Come for the corn and stay for the fun! You can find us in Confederat­ion Park at 50 Ave./50 street. This year is set to be bigger and better than ever! Starting Thursday evening at 4 p.m. with our parade followed by our newly moved Opening Ceremonies at 6 p.m. on our Cornfest Stage in Confederat­ion park. Huckleberr­y Festival Weekend is our biggest summer event. It brings our community, locals, families, and friends together for a celebratio­n of summer! We’ll have live music, vendors, games, hiking, berry picking, activities for young and old, barbecues, a down home community supper and more. Kootenai Brown Southern Nights (A Taste of Pincher Creek). Bring your taste and hunger as local restaurant­s and food service providers will be on the grounds allowing you to purchase and sample their finest cuisine. Great Canadian Barn Dance The dance includes a dinner featuring great country cooking and enjoy a live stage show. Iron Springs 7th Annual Parade and Barbecue takes place along Highway 25 between Picture Butte and Turin. Events begin at 4 p.m.; parade lineup 3:30-4:p.m.; parade 6 p.m.; barbecue 7 p.m.; fireworks (if no fire ban in effect) 9:30 p.m. Cost: All free except a $5/person cost for the barbecue supper. Events: bouncy castle, horseshoes, tug-of-war, bonfires (if no fire ban) and a homemade pie baking contest (prizes). Come and join the fun. Put an entry in the parade. Make a homemade pie. Lethbridge Volkswagen Oktoberfes­t YQL is back for it's 5th year of great German Beer, great German Food and amazing entertainm­ent. We have expanded to Exhibition Park this year to expand and grow the festival and are excited to turn the main pavilion into a Bier Haus.
