Fitness in west Lethbridge is taking on the challenge to make sure people in the community are warm all winter.

From now until Dec. 21,

Anytime Fitness will be collecting donations of NEW socks, as well as new or gently used mittens and gloves.

Following the collection,

Clean, dry footwear is especially important to prevent foot-related injuries for community members who spend a lot of time outdoors during the winter months. Protecting extremities like fingers and toes is a critical factor in preventing injuries like frostbite, blisters, or chilblains.

For hygiene reasons, donated socks must be new, preferably in their original packaging. Anytime Fitness is located at 340 University Drive, West and is open 24 hours. Donations may be dropped off anytime. For more information, contact United Way at 403-327-1700 or Anytime Fitness at 403-795-4980.
