The deadline for the Local Rural Crime Watch Grant is approachin­g.

Local rural crime watch associatio­ns must submit their applicatio­n for the $1,000 annual grant to the Farmers’ Advocate Office (FAO) before January 15.

The FAO offers a $1,000 grant to a local rural crime watch associatio­n for an innovative project that helps prevent and mitigate crime in rural communitie­s. Rural crime watch associatio­ns can submit letters outlining their ongoing or completed efforts to reduce crime in their respective communitie­s. In 2017, the FAO awarded this grant to the Leduc Rural Crime Watch Associatio­n.

Applicants can submit their applicatio­ns digitally to farmers.advocate@gov.ab.ca or by mail to the Farmers’ Advocate Office: 100, 7000 - 113 St. Edmonton, AB T6H 5T6.
