Milk River’s 2019 Bonanza Days getting organized

- BY HEATHER CAMERON

Milk River’s 2019 Bonanza Days will take place on August 2nd and 3rd of 2019.

According to Linda Robutka of the Milk River and District Ag Society, the community of Milk River came up with the idea of Bonanza Days 52 years ago. The first community-wide celebration was the Canadian Centennial celebration in 1967.

“Bonanza Days is good for the community and it’s very popular with those who attend,” Robutka said. “Approximately 1,500 are expected to attend this year’s events.”

The Bonanza Days Planning Committee is still working on planning this year’s event and could use some help in making it a truly memorable time.

“Without some help, it will be difficult to pull off,” said resident Suzanne Liebelt, Secretary for the Milk River and District Ag Society. “If you have any time, please join us and see if you can help; every little bit helps.”

The Bonanza Days Planning Committee meets in the Agora Room of the Milk River Civic Centre at 7 p.m. on every third Monday of every month. The next committee meeting is January 21, 2019.

“Come join us and see what the Milk River Ag Society is working on for your community,” Liebelt said.
