Museum and Fort stores offer expanded online selection

-

Over the past year, the Galt Museum & Archives and Fort Whoop-Up have been greatly expanding the selection of items from their stores that are available for purchase online. The selection has been further enhanced by staff over the past weeks due to the need for physical distancing during the COVID-19 pandemic.

“The Galt has long been known as the premier location for local memorabilia and local history books,” says Visitor Services Coordinator Michelle Christensen. “Now we are able to offer those products, and many more, to online visitors.”

Heritage toys with a variety of adult and children’s puzzles, games, and activity books along with oldfashioned candy, jewellery, and cards are among the selection offered by the Galt’s store online. The Fort’s online store offers clothing, blankets, moccasins and sweetgrass braids. The Archives have recently added the ability for online visitors to order physical and digital copies of archival photographs and documents. Visitors can search and select objects from the online collection of over 80,000 items.

“Our team of dedicated staff and volunteers have worked very hard to scan and upload tens of thousands of photographs to our public database,” says Archivist Andrew Cherenvych. “We are very pleased to be able to offer digital and physical prints of photographs in our archival database for sale on our website.”
