Highway 3 Connector set to resume service between Medicine Hat and Lethbridge on August 4th!

The vital Highway 3 Connector service between Medicine Hat and Lethbridge will be resuming service on Tuesday, August 4, 2020. The service was suspended on June 1, 2020 in an abundance of caution to help flatten the COVID-19 curve.

“Highway 3 Connector is pleased to announce that due to high demand, we are set to resume our Medicine Hat and Lethbridge shuttle service on August 4th,” says On-It Regional Transit’s Director, Craig Loose. “When making the decision as to whether service would resume this year the health and safety of our passengers and staff remained our top priority; we are fortunate to be able to draw upon the experience of successful­ly re-launching our On-It Banff/Canmore service in June and are incorporat­ing many of the same protocols for Highway 3 Connector’ s highly anticipate­d return to the road.”

With the health and safety of passengers and staff as a top priority, Highway 3 Connector has implemente­d enhanced cleaning and safety initiative­s in response to COVID-19. A few notable changes include:

Walk-on Riders: Highway 3 Connector is now accepting walk-on riders on a limited basis. Passengers looking to utilize the walk-on service must call 1-877-367-4993 to confirm walk-on availabili­ty ahead of their desired pickup time.

As Alberta continue store open, Highway 3 Connector is dedicated to providing passengers with safe, reliable, and affordable transporta­tion along Highway 3.

Highway 3 Connector is a Medicine Hat/ Le th bridge weekday shuttle bus that connects 8 communitie­s in the region. This service provides access to regional transporta­tion for over 165,000 people living in communitie­s along Highway 3.

Highway 3 Connector is funded by the Government of Alberta through the Rural Transporta­tion Pilot Project. The Rural Transporta­tion Pilot Program is designed to improve public transporta­tion services between Alberta’s mid-sized urban centres and their surroundin­g communitie­s.
