Mon­tana coun­ties con­tinue strug­gle to con­trol COVID-19 pan­demic

Cases of COVID-19 nearly dou­bled in Havre, Mont., over the first four days of Oc­to­ber to sit at 85 ac­tive cases on Oct. 4.

Fig­ures for Hill County, re­leased Oct. 5 by state health of­fi­cials, also show two new deaths from the res­pi­ra­tory dis­ease, bringing the to­tal to five.

The to­tal num­ber of ac­tive cases rose by 41 over the week­end. Six re­cov­er­ies and the two deaths brings the to­tal num­ber of cases to 235 in the re­gion south of Cy­press County, Alta.

Blaine County, which sits east of Hill County, also saw num­bers rise over the week­end. Ac­tive cases rose from 20 on Fri­day to 54.

Mon­tana re­ported 212 new cases statewide lastMon­day. That brings the num­ber of ac­tive cases to 5,008. A to­tal of 190 Mon­tanans have died.
