Working Well Workshops Winter 2021: Just like the popular in-person workshops, these FREE, live, online workshops are hosted by local municipalities and presented by the Working Well Program with technical expertise provided by staff from Alberta Agriculture and Forestry, Alberta Environment and Parks, Alberta Health Services and local, licensed water well drillers. If you live in or own property in one of these municipalities and have a water well on your property, register for a workshop today. It starts at 6:30 p.m. Register at https:// bit.ly/2LNfHMz During this live, online workshop you will learn: The basics of groundwater and how your well works; How to protect your well from contamination; How to test your well water; How to properly operate and maintain your well; How and when to shock chlorinate your well; What to do with old, abandoned wells on your property. The county will distribute workshop resources (i.e., binder, fact sheets, copy of the presentation) to participants who live in or own property in the municipality. Western Canadian Dairy Seminar 2021: 'Virtual, Dairy, Realty' Canadian Dairy Seminar (WCDS). Spread out over 5 days (2-3 hours a day), the virtual (online) version of WCDS 2021 gives you the opportunity to hear about recent research and new technology from speakers presenting on a range of topics, including calf health, nutrition, and reproduction. There will also be virtual tours of 3 progressive dairy farms across Western Canada, a live student research presentation competition (delegates can vote for their favorite presentation) and, the always popular, producer panel. The virtual trade show area gives you the chance to connect with our industry sponsors as well as discuss the latest dairy-related research in the virtual research poster display section.
