Wheat Growers supports the CN/KC Southern Rail merger

-

The Western Canadian Wheat Growers are pleased to support the proposed merger of the Canadian National and Kansas City Southern Class 1 rail lines. The seamless movement of raw and finished goods throughout North America will benefit the Canadian, US and Mexican economies.

Canadian companies that import or export materials or finished goods will all benefit from an expanded market and secure transportation link. “Having all of the transportation hubs connected aids in the timely delivery of goods” said Daryl Fransoo, Chair.

All participants in the North American grain market benefits through enhanced reliability, competition and capacity. Farmers, grain companies and end users will be able to take full advantage of the CUSMA trade agreement, as opportunities emerge from the COVID-19 pandemic.

“The combined shipping opportunities across all parts of North America, will ensure that Western Canadian grain is able to be moved to all international markets,” closed Fransoo.
