Supporting transportation projects in rural Alberta
Alberta’s government is investing over $1.5 million to support rural roads by upgrading culverts and drainage in the constituency of Livingstone-Macleod.
This money will help the municipal districts complete various rural road projects through the Strategic Transportation Infrastructure Program (STIP).
“The over $1.5 million in strategic rural infrastructure investments this year in Livingstone - Macleod will help support economic growth in our region and the long-term viability of our roads. Let’s get building,” explains Roger Reid – MLA for Livingstone-Macleod.
• $454,238 is going towards a bridge culvert replacement project in the Municipal District of Pincher Creek;
• $1,069,807 will be invested in two bridge culvert replacement projects, and drainage improvements to Railway Ave (Granum) in the Municipal District of Willow Creek.
• As well Alberta’s government is investing over $1.2 million to support rural road improvements in the Taber region. This money will help the counties complete various rural road projects through the Strategic Transportation Infrastructure Program (STIP).
• “This STIP funding will bring welcome improvements to Taber. With similar amounts of funding for projects across rural Alberta, we will be well-equipped to boost investment in our province and promote economic growth,” notes Grant Hunter – MLA for Taber-Warner. $427,500 is going towards a bridge culvert replacement project in the Town of Taber
$790,000 will be invested in upgrades to RR 18-1 and Twp Rd 15-2
“I am happy to see that the MD of Taber is receiving $790,000 in STIP funding for road upgrades on RR 18-1 and Twp Rd 152. These upgrades will improve our roads while bringing jobs to rural Alberta,” adds Joseph Schow – MLA for Cardston-Siksika.
