ABP calls for Environmental Stewardship Award nominations

- CONTRIBUTED

Alberta Beef Producers (ABP) is seeking nominations for the 2022 Environmental Stewardship Award (ESA). The award recognizes cattle producers whose natural resource stewardship practices contribute to the environment, and enhance productivity and profitability. This is an opportunity to share your environmental stewardship practices with other producers and present a positive story about the beef industry’s contribution to the environment.

The ABP ESA has been a prestigious mainstay of the industry since 1992, and we strongly believe this is due to the outstanding nominations submitted every year. Help us continue to celebrate Alberta producers who exhibit exemplary environmental stewardship by nominating someone you know whose management practices contribute to the positive story of sustainability in cattle production.

ESA NOMINATION FORM

Nominations due October 29, 2021

The nomination application form is available from the ABP office or local delegates, and all beef cattle farms and ranches in Alberta are eligible to apply. Producers can nominate or be nominated by an individual or organization, or apply themselves. Past nominees are strongly encouraged to resubmit their application.

The winner will receive a commemorative gate sign and an allexpenses paid trip to the 2022 ABP Annual General Meeting at the Alberta Beef Industry Conference in Red Deer, where the award is presented. Provincial award recipients then move forward to compete at the national level, which is presented at the Canadian Beef Industry Conference.
