Get your helmets on and your bikes ready – Coaldale’s brand new, state-of-the-art mountain bike park is ready to ride!

“The mountain bike park is family-friendly and accessible to all ages and skill levels,” said Russ Tanner, Director of Recreation and Community Services at the Town of Coaldale.

“We’re ecstatic that construction on the park could start and finish this summer – Bike Track Ltd. did a tremendous job delivering on this incredible new community amenity!”

The mountain bike park features 3 loop trails, 3 jump lines, and 2 pump tracks. Once fully completed, the park will also have a picnic shelter, donated by the Kinsmen Club of Coaldale, and well as public bathrooms shared with the Owl’s Nest Campground and a bike repair station donated by Ascent Cycle.

“Growing up in Coaldale as a child, getting into biking and now sharing my love of biking with my son, all I can say is this bike park is perfect for families,” said Cody Belter, Coaldale Mountain Bike Park Working Group member. “Everything is well-placed and well-built. I have ridden a lot of skill-building bike parks all over Alberta and BC and all I can say is this one checks off so many boxes of fun! The Coaldale Mountain Bike Park is great for all ages and skill levels. Be sure to bring a helmet, start small and work your way up.”

The mountain bike park officially opens on September 10 with a grand opening to follow in spring 2022 once the amenities are fully constructed.
