Fort Macleod RCMP seek assistance in locating stolen flatbed truck and trailer


RCMP are seeking the public’s assistance is locating a stolen black Ford F350 flatbed truck that is believed to be in southern Alberta.

On Oct. 25, at approximat­ely 8:45 a.m., Fort MacLeod RCMP received a report of a stolen black Ford F350 flatbed truck. The truck was connected to a dump trailer which contained a forklift in the back of the trailer, which were also stolen.

The dump trailer is described as a 2021 bumper-pull tri-axle, with three (3) 7000 pound axles, black in colour bearing Alberta Licence 6CP231. The forklift is a 1975 model, propane fueled, orange in colour.

On Nov. 1, Okotoks RCMP received a report of shopliftin­g incident that had occurred on Oct. 29, 2021, at approximat­ely 4:45 p.m. at a store in the area of Southbank Boulevard and 32 Street S.E. of Okotoks, Alta.

An adult male was observed to exit a store with unpaid merchandis­e and leave in a truck. The vehicle the male entered was a black flatbed truck bearing B.C. licence plate PS001F. It is believed to be the stolen vehicle from Fort Macleod on Oct. 25. On Oct. 28, Calgary Police Service received a report that the licence plate which was on the Ford F350 when it was stolen from Fort Macleod, had been swapped with a similar vehicle that was registered to a B.C. licence plate PS001F. The male in this incident is described as having light complexion, mid to late 30’s, short black hair which is shaven on the sides, wearing a camouflage jacket, and dark pants.

On Nov. 3, Claresholm RCMP received a call of a suspicious person asking for gas from residents in the rural area. Photograph­s were taken by the resident who provided them to police. The Ford F350 flatbed captured in the photograph was bearing the stolen B.C. licence plate PS001F, and is believed to be the stolen vehicle from Fort Macleod on Oct. 25, 2021. It is believed this involved the same male as in the Okotoks shopliftin­g incident.

On Nov. 4, shortly after midnight, Coaldale RCMP were notified by Lethbridge Police Service of a stolen vehicle that fled at a high rate of speed into RCMP jurisdicti­on. Coaldale RCMP attempted to intercept the stolen truck, however were unable to locate the it.

On Nov. 8, at approximat­ely 6:20 p.m. the High River RCMP receive a call of an erratic driver. The High River RCMP located a vehicle, a Ford F350 Black in colour which was bearing the stolen licence plate PS001F and attempted a traffic stop southbound on Highway 2 north of Claresholm, Alta. The vehicle, believed to be the stolen truck from Fort Macleod, fled at a high rate of speed and in the interests of public safety, was not pursued.
