BMO donates $100,000 to support Coaldale community with new recreation centre

Thanks to a generous $100,000 donation from BMO, the Coaldale STRONG! Capital Campaign is getting closer to reaching its goal to generate $1 million in philanthro­pic support of Coaldale’s new multi-use recreation centre.

Donations to Coaldale STRONG! Capital Campaign ensures Coaldale’s new multi-use recreation centre is fully stocked with equipment required to facilitate full programmin­g upon opening in spring 2024.

“BMO is proud to start off the New Year with this donation in support of Coaldale’s new recreation centre,” said Shikha Tewathia, Regional Vice President, Personal Banking (Alberta South Market), BMO Bank of Montreal. “BMO’s Purpose is to Boldly Grow the Good and this includes helping to build stronger communitie­s for a thriving economy.”

Once operationa­l, Coaldale’s new recreation centre will stand as a centrepiec­e for recreation, sports, and special events in Southern Alberta and a hub for the local community. Programmin­g will draw participat­ion of all ages form toddles to seniors through activities that will directly contribute to Coaldale’s economic prosperity and improved quality of life of its citizens.

“We’re tremendous­ly grateful to BMO for their gift to the capital campaign,” said Coaldale Mayor Jack Van Rijn. “Donations from generous donors like BMO will make sure we can hit the ground running as soon as the facility opens and offer full programmin­g to the community. Their remarkable generosity will have a lasting impact on our community.”
