Lethbridge County strategize­s for the future

A new Strategic Plan has been approved for Lethbridge County.

At the April 21 County Council meeting, the 20222032 plan was adopted by Council to act as a guide for the County moving forward.

Created after planning sessions with Council and Senior Leadership, the Strategic Plan outlines the County’s vision statement, as well as four goals that Council will strive to accomplish over the next decade.

The vision statement is “Lethbridge County is Canada’s most innovative rural community.“

From this statement, the four goals include:

• Governance: providing responsibl­e governance, including policies that guide operations to enhance the County

• Relationsh­ips: building strong relationsh­ips with our internal and external stakeholde­rs strengthen­s the broader community

• Region: We are a versatile region where all

stakeholde­rs are able to thrive Prosperity: Lethbridge County fosters an environmen­t that will encourage investment in innovation and technology

“The Strategic Plan gives us purpose and a set of goals that Council has collective­ly agreed on,” says Reeve Tory Campbell. “This is the vision for the future of Lethbridge County and a guide for how we will get there. Every decision we make at a Council meeting will be driven by this document, ensuring we are acting in the best interests of our citizens and businesses.”

“The Strategic Plan gives clarity to staff so that we can perform our implementa­tion of service provision in a way that best reflects Council’s vision for Lethbridge County,” says CAO, Ann Mitchell. “We are mindful of our responsibi­lity to provide excellent municipal services to County citizens and the Strategic Plan helps direct our time and resources for the benefit of all.”
